Irish Dance instruction is offered
at the Studio of Dance Arts in Eureka,
teaching traditional solo and set dances to students ranging in age from 5
- Adult. Classes are offered in both soft and hard shoes; ceili and figure
dancing are included.
Through the Studio's affiliation with the Yeates
Academy of Irish Dance, our students are eligible to compete
in local, regional, national, and World Irish Dance Competitions called "feis".
The Yeates Academy is registered
with the Irish Dancing Commission, Dublin, Ireland. Currently,
the Studio has dancers ranging from beginners to preliminary champion. Sinead
Yeates-Kelly T.C.R.G.(Accredited Teacher of Irish Dance) offers workshops at
the Studio regularly.
The Irish Company Dancers are the Studio's performance troupe. Ranging from beginner to preliminary champion,
the dancers have performed at fairs, schools, church functions, care facilities,
restaurants and clubs, wedding and parties and numerous community events including:
the Blue Lake Folk Festival, the Morris Graves Museum of Arts, and the Westhaven
Center for the Arts.
In April, 2009, two of our dancers, Johanna Anderson and Sophie Northern,
competed in the World Irish Dancing Championships.
Our Irish Company Dancers
have performed with:

- Good Company
- Scatter the Mud
- Natalie McMasters
- Trinity Irish Dancers.
The performance troupe dancers are
our core performers; however, students from all class levels are given an opportunity
to perform throughout the year culminating with our annual recital in June.
